CONTROL brings together fifteen artists to explore the video game as a vital and expanding cultural medium, tracing the line between design and art and asking at what point a rendered world, a crafted character, or a system of rules transcends its origins to become something more.

The exhibition will draw on a lineage that stretches from Suzanne Treister’s pioneering fictional game stills of the early 1990s to the present, celebrating the creative precision and philosophical ambition alive in the worlds games build, and the emotions they, sometimes unexpectedly, make real.
